Tagtough baton
Current
Also known as: Tagtough, TT baton, Stainless steel baton
Intrinsically safe patrol baton in a hermetically sealed stainless steel case. Stores 4,000 clockings and runs 4 to 8 years on its battery.
How it works
The baton records the date and time each time it is touched to an ID point. Nothing is sent while the guard is on patrol. After the round the baton is placed on an uploader, which reads the clockings out:
- the Doc Pro sends them to a computer over USB, for the Tagtough desktop software;
- the Remote Uploader sends them over Wi-Fi to Tagtough Online.
A correct clocking makes the light at the back of the baton flash once.
Built for hazardous and harsh sites
The baton is certified intrinsically safe for Zone 0, so it can be used where an explosive atmosphere may be present, such as underground mines and fuel depots. It is built to IP69K, which covers dust, immersion and high-pressure, high-temperature wash-down.
Service
The battery lasts 4 to 8 years depending on use and is replaced as part of a standard service. For repair charges and how to send a baton in, see repairs and warranty. Run the pre-repair check before sending a baton in.
What it does

- Runs for 4 to 8 years on one battery, which our service centre replaces during a standard service.
- {'Works in hazardous areas': 'it is certified intrinsically safe for Zone 0.'}
In the box
