Mag Express
Legacy, still supported
Also known as: Mag Express Online, Express Online unit, Online Express, PIC Express, ARM Express, Magtouch Electronics Online Starter Kit
Cellular upload station for stainless steel batons, mounted at the guardhouse. Battery backup and storage for 65,000 clockings.
Replaced by Remote Uploader (RUE).
How it works
The Mag Express is usually mounted at the guardhouse. After each patrol the guard places the baton on the unit, which reads the clockings and sends them to the server over the cellular network. Reports are then available from any web browser.
It can also be fitted in a supervisor's vehicle and used to read batons at several sites as the supervisor visits each one. ID points and fob tags can be clocked directly on the unit, and it has a call button.
The unit runs on mains power. If the power fails, the backup battery keeps it going for about 2.5 days, and if it cannot reach the network it stores up to 65,000 clockings until it can.
